Supervisor Labor Relations Training

Reasonable Suspicion Testing for Supervisors (REQUIRED)

Course Description:Section 382.603 requires that all persons designated to supervise drivers receive at least 60 minutes of training on alcohol misuse and an additional 60 minutes of training on controlled substances use. This required training is used by supervisors to determine whether reasonable suspicion exists to require a driver to undergo testing under Sec. 382.307.

This course is designed to help satisfy the reasonable suspicion training requirements under 49 CFR Part 382. In addition, this course will help all persons designated to supervise Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) drivers gain confidence in regards to their reasonable suspicion testing responsibilities by covering the prohibitions, the reasonable suspicion process, effects of alcohol misuse and drug use, and what happens after the alcohol or drug test is done.

Intro to Emotional Intelligence (EQ)

This is the first module in the DHP (Developing Human Performance) series. This introduction to Emotional Intelligence provides leaders with a broad overview of the key competencies of emotional intelligence. They will participate in lively learning activities as part of the immersion in the concepts. Participants will be given an emotional intelligence model as a framework for building themselves as emotionally competent leaders. Participants will have an opportunity to gain greater understanding for how emotions impact people in the workplace and will gain practice identifying their own and others feelings, patterns of behavior and, with practice, will identify areas for continued development in themselves.

Answering Phones - The Oak Harbor Way (REQUIRED)

This course describes the expectations for anyone answering a phone at Oak Harbor Freight Lines. These are the keys to answering phones the Oak Harbor Way.

(1) Little Card Big Trouble (REQUIRED)

This course is designed to educate Employees and to help you understand the power of a union authorization card.  After viewing the video, you'll be educated on what a union authorization card is and how union organizers gather signatures.  You will understand what it means to sign a union authorization card and it will show you the value of your signature as well as how to protect it.

Driver Orientation (FIRST DAY/REQUIRED)

Training for all P&D and LINE Drivers, to be completed prior to their first day in the truck.

Dock Worker Orientation (FIRST DAY/REQUIRED)

New Dock Employee orientation at Oak Harbor Freight Lines. This is to be completed before the first day on the dock.

Dock Automation - Supervisor

This course designed to orient the Supervisor to the dock automation systems.

Hazmat Training - Shop/Clerical (REQUIRED)

Required Hazmat training for all shop and clerical personnel; also required to take every 3 years.

Lockout / Tagout - Shop Employees

Required training to comply with OSHA Requirements for Lockout / Tagout Procedures.

Liftgate Safety (REQUIRED)

Required training on proper guidelines on operating lift gates safely.

Hazmat Training - Ops/Dock/Driver (REQUIRED)

Required Hazmat training for Drivers, Dock and all Operations Personnel. This is taken from first day of hire and thereafter every 3 years.

Forklift Training (REQUIRED)

Forklift training required for all operations employees, who operate forklift's. This is required for all new employees, to re verify every 3 years or as needed for extra training. An additional Forklift Practical Skills test is also required for total completion of this training.

Driving Situations - Preventing Right Turn Squeeze

Extra training, assigned by a supervisor, on preventing right turn squeeze accidents.

Safety Basics (FIRST DAY/REQUIRED)

Required basic safety information for all operations personnel to be completed before the first day on the Job.

Training for Ops employees who have access to the powered pallet jacks
